Located in Venice, California, this compound includes a primary and guest house, a solar-heated pool atop a 12-car garage, a 3-story elevator, and Goldbrecht windows and doors. Many sustainable features were included, such as stormwater collection for reuse, hydronic radiant heating, photovoltaic panels, a solar chimney, and sustainably harvested tropical hardwood details. The main facade consists of five vertical, tilt-up slabs of concrete, which function as a sound barrier against a busy street and are staggered to allow windows in between.
